Winter Reindeer Coat of Arms

Hi Everyone…

Welcome to Blogmas Day 16

Today’s project is a Winter Reindeer Coat of Arms made from a reindeer head I bought in stampers grove and the plaque is cut from a cat food box 🙂

reindeer-of-arms-1

The reindeer looked like this before I started

I took out some mod podge matte and some Papermania decopatch papers

paper-mache-paper

I painted the whole thing with white gesso as a base coat so that the papers would pop when they were glued once they covered the entire reindeer head.

reindeer-of-arms-2

The base of the head was covered in clear glitter, and I stuck some glittery snowballs on the sides pf the plaque, it was finished off with a wooden snowflake dipped in versamark ink and a coat of white encrusted embossing powder applied and when melted I sprinkled some iridescent glitter over top to make it sparkle..

and finally the reindeer was centred and stuck down onto the plaque and it’s done.

As always, thank you for popping round and I will see you all tomorrow for day 17!

Chocolate Box Toadstool

Chocolate Box Toadstool.

Hi Everyone!

Happy Sunday to you all, hope you have had a lovely crafty weekend!

Yesterday I drove all the way up to Turriff in Aberdeenshire to a fabulous wee craft shop called Madhatters, where I did a Demonstration for Indigoblu.   It was worth the 6 hours driving and 320 odd miles round trip!

madhatters

Wendy the shop owner was brilliant and kept all the ladies going with cups of tea, then we had a lovely wee buffet lunch (I even got a wee doggy bag to take with me for my drive home)!    So a special thank you to Wendy for your hospitality and fabulous wee craft shop.

I bought a couple of these toadstools, they have the best selection of decopatch shapes, boxes & things I have ever seen and just had to bring these home with me… so guess what today’s project was 😉

I used the following Indigoblu Products to transform this wee cutie!

  • Indigoblu Flitterglu, Phat Foam & Scoochie.
  • Indigoblu Chocolate Box Megaflake
  • Indigoblu Snow White Metallic Cottage Acrylic Paint
  • Indigoblu “Enjoy Life” Stamp Set .. using the “With Love” Stamp
  • Stazon Ganache Ink
  • Stitched Tag Die

Here is the wee toadstool transformed into something rather special, I love this and will be making another one very soon which will travel with me to Indigoblu Demonstrations around Scotland.

That’s me for today.. hope you enjoyed today’s project..

I will be back on Wednesday over on the Indigoblu Blog with a lovely project made with one of the brand new stamp releases

Altered Indigoblu Mannequin

mannequin 1

Hellooooo……

It has been a while since my last blog post, too long, i think, but I have been busy 🙂

Today I have an altered Indigoblu mannequin /dressform to share with you…. this will be coming along to all the Indigoblu demonstrations I will be doing in the coming months.

mannequin 2

There is a cool technique used on the mannequin, whereby you stamp tissue in the ink and stamps of your choice, then apply it to the mannequin with slap it on matte..

mannequin 4

I have also used the large butterfly stamp with megaflake stamped onto vellum twice and attached them back to back to give it wings that look good from both sides..

mannequin 3

I also added various trims and embelishments from my wee craft shed to finish her off..

mannequin 6

I hope you like today’s project, now I have tackled doing one, I quite fancy making more 🙂

There will be a full supply list at the bottom of this post if you fancy having a go at making one for yourself 🙂

Notebooks and Flower Pots

Hi everyone…

Busy day in the shed .. I spent the morning tidying and sorting (again)!  and early evening I managed to make another couple of projects to take along to my Indigoblu demonstrations.

When I was down in Kelso a couple of weekends ago, I picked up some items for altering, and used these today..

First project is a clay plant pot.. I gave it a base coat of Gee-Sso Good White Gesso… it dried really quick, no need to use the  heat gun,  then a napkin that I bought a while back,  next i applied some Slap it on Matte, and adhered the napkin to the pot..

Napkin Pottery 1

Once the napkin was completely dry, I wrapped 3 x strips of 1/8th Inch Red Line Tape around the pot, and applied some Lancashire Rose Megaflake.. look how it shines, I just love it!

Napkin Pottery 3

the second project continues with the same these of using napkins and slap it on matte medium to cover a note book…

Note Book1

This wee notebook measures approx 5.5″ x 5.5″ and the napkin covered it beautifully, the only difference between the 2 projects is I did not apply any gee-sso good gesso to the book before applying the napkin.

note book 2

  • Slap it on Matte from Indigoblu
  • 3ply Napkin peel apart and only use the top layer
  • Red line tape

Here is a little altered wooden birdhouse, I loved it so much I bought 3 of them yesterday when I was down in Kelso!

Bird House

Indigoblu Supplies used :-

  • Black Gee-so Good Gesso
  • Megaflake : Royal Peacock
  • Flitterglu Kit
  • Derwent battery operated eraser (these are fab and everyone should have one!)
  • Alter-Ego’s

Other Supplies used :-

  • Wooden Bird House, Decoupage Paper and glue from Strikes/Klondyke Garden Centre Kelso
  • Grunge Paste
  • Distress Inks : Squeezed Lemonade, Gathered Twigs and Mowed Lawn
  • Acetate
  • Scortape

Bird House

I thought that I had ruined the look of the bird house by adding the texture paste, so I asked my hubby for his opinion,… he said it looked fine, and looked like the birds had poo’d down the front of the house!! typical lol

Shabby.

shabby

This is my latest design team project for Wild Orchid Crafts, it’s a re-purposed face cream selection box, which has had the shabby treatment, and tomorrow I will make the mini album to go inside.

This is what the box looked like before I set to work on it today…

bare box

and the inside

bare box open

I decided to leave the silver cover visible on the box and not paint it out in acrylic paint, opting to matt and layer it with patterned paper, pearlescent shimmer card stock, lace and fabric.

shabby box

I incorporated the shabby rose pins on the front of the box, that I made last week…

and I also made layered up some new flowers, after being inspired by some Prima Flowers that I had seen online

There is also little banner’s featured on the box, one in the top left corner of the box and another on the inside of the lid:-)

Its been fun making this today, and I am looking forward to making the mini album tomorrow, be sure to check out my Youtube channel for the video tomorrow showing the completed project

Altered Bingo Board

Hello everyone, hope your all having a lovely Easter Monday 🙂

Before I head into today’s project, I would like like to congratulate Susan (Dancing Dragon) on becoming a mum, by giving birth to a baby boy today … well done Susan 🙂     also I would like to congratulate Mitzi Curry on becoming a Grandma for the first time 🙂  Love to you both and your family.

Today’s project is an altered Bingo Board or Clip Board that Maria sent me last year, I came across it when I was rummaging through my chipboard drawer yesterday 😉 … so thank you Maria, I have now put it to good use!   In fact it has gone to very good use as it has got a new home already ….and become a notice board for my mother-in-law’s kitchen…. It is already gift wrapped and on its way there as I type this …

Supplies List :-

  • 1 x Bingo Board / Clip Board
  • Daler & Rowney White Gesso
  • Decoart Spring Green Acrylic Paint
  • Ranger Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint
  • Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden 12 x 12 Patterned Paper
  • Stampin Up Butterfly Embosslit
  • Tonic Studio Butterfly Punch
  • Amber Rhinestones from Wild Orchid Crafts
  • Ranger Glue n Seal Matte Adhesive
  • Diamond Stickles
  • Frayed Burlap Distress Ink

I love the effect on the crackle paint, once its dry, rubbing over some frayed burlap distress ink so that it soaks down into the crackles and gives this neat look…. (you wipe the excess ink off with a damp cloth to restore the top of the project and leave the ink in the cracks) 🙂

in hindsight… I should have used some texture paste to blend out the lines of the paper, so that there were no lines showing… but you live and learn, and I can always remember this for the next one that I make… because I want one now lol

Thanks for Stopping by 🙂
