80th Birthday Wishes Book

Hi Everyone ….

A very happy sunny Saturday to you all!

I have been a busy wee ted in my shed today … I woke early this morning, had a bowl of porridge drizzled with ginger syrup, then headed up to my shed to get stuck in.

I finished off the 80th Birthday Wishes Book for a friend at work,  the best way to describe what this is…  It’s a bit like an autograph book, except instead of a birthday card, you get this wee book filled with lovely birthday wishes from friends and family 😉

supplies list :-

• Chipboard
• 12 x 12 Patterned Paper – Recollections the sweetest thing stack
• 1/2 ” ‘O’ Wire for the Bind it All
• Prima Say it in Crystals Swirls & Hydrangea Flowers
• Filigree wooden Butterfly from Strikes Garden Centre
• Metal Key from Indigoblu
• Various trims, lace, tuille, and mesh & a Coffee Filter
• Distress Inks: Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade & Ripe Persimmon
• Memorybox numers dies
• Cardstock
• Indigoblu Royal peacock Megaflake
• Indigoblu Flitterglu Kit
• Indigoblu Cottage Acrylic Paint Pink Iced Gems and Post Box Red (mixed together)
• Sheets of Cream Challenge writing paper for the inside of the book

I cut and layered up 5 pieces of cardstock to provide a sturdy 80 for the front of the book

Altered Indigoblu Mannequin

Hellooooo……

It has been a while since my last blog post, too long, i think, but I have been busy 🙂

Today I have an altered Indigoblu mannequin /dressform to share with you…. this will be coming along to all the Indigoblu demonstrations I will be doing in the coming months.

There is a cool technique used on the mannequin, whereby you stamp tissue in the ink and stamps of your choice, then apply it to the mannequin with slap it on matte..

 

I have also used the large butterfly stamp with megaflake stamped onto vellum twice and attached them back to back to give it wings that look good from both sides..

 

I also added various trims and embelishments from my wee craft shed to finish her off..

I hope you like today’s project, now I have tackled doing one, I quite fancy making more 🙂

Shabby Sunday #12 ~ Shabby Egg Embelishments

Shabby Sunday this week is an old egg carton up-cycled and turned into a shabby chic embelishment box!

Now the blog post today is picture heavy, I took lots of pictures of the process along the way 🙂

I took an egg carton, carefully peeled off the label to use as a template..

 

I love the texture of this egg carton it looks a bit like fabric!

I took a pencil, drew around the outline of the label and then cut it out

then I took a distress tool to rough up the edges…

 

Once the edges are roughed up, the patterned paper is set aside till later…

 

 

next we are ready to paint the egg carton.. I am using Paperartsy Snowflake Chalk Paint..

I am painting the whole of the box, inside and out…

then once the box is completely dry, I’m measuring up the inside, to place some patterned paper in there..

I’m using a Stampin up patterned paper on this project, I think it is called Tea Time..

This piece of paper had the edges roughed up too.. then fixed down inside the lid of the box..

I have 2 x double row’s of shabby white trim going in next and I also have a little spring flowers panel, with the edges roughed up too..

I popped a couple of pink Petaloo flowers either side of the spring flower panel..

The outer edge (inside) of the egg carton also got a coat of Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture Paste… to give it a lovely shabby shimmer

lovely & sparkly…  now on to the front/top of the carton…. Now its time to add the patterned paper to the top of the box, i’m using 1/8th inch scortape

for the top I cut this “wish” sentiment out from a journal card on a 12 x 12 piece of patterned paper..

 

then I embelished the top with mulberry flowers, buttons, butterflies and pearls.. and added some trinkets to the inside and it’s done!

 

I had loads of fun making this project today!

Well… another week has passed without much crafting going on… but I managed to get up to my shed tonight to create something for shabby sunday.

I know I said last week that I would make some shabby embelishments, but a change of plan was in order, given the lack of time I had, and made a card instead 🙂

I also challenged myself to use the colour purple, now although I love the colour, I do struggle to make stuff with it.. so here is my wee shabby purple card

I love the effect the rock candy gives the leaves..they look frosted

Hey Pumpkin!

Hey Pumpkin!….

Are these cute or what!!

This morning I was catching up on video’s on you tube,  I subscribe to the Graphic 45 channel,   there is a fantasic tutorial there today on how to make these pumpkins.. click here to watch the tutorial..

After watching it, I headed up to my shed and made a couple..

then I made this one…

 

• SEI Field Notes Patterned Paper Collection (this is gorgeous! my TK Maxx find from last week)
• Prima Flowers (from a huge canister i bought ages ago)
• 5 x Brads
• Hot glue gun
• Black soot distress ink
• Butterfly from the SEI Field Notes collection kit

this has been a great little project, as it has enabled me to use up brads that i bought ages ago and never used, the good thing is, the brads that hold the pumpkin together don’t need to match because you don’t see them!

also,  it enabled me to start using up the huge canister of prima flowers i have been hoarding!

 

Plus.. this project has given me an idea .. remember the frosted leaves I made last night?  … I think they would be perfect on a pumpkin..

off to have a spot of breakfast, then I’m heading back up to my shed 🙂

Trendsetter Mini Album

Hi everyone….Hope you are all well ….

I managed to finish the trendsetter mini that I started a few weeks ago, feels good to get this project finished.

It’s my next Design Team Project for Wild Orchid Crafts.

 

The dimensions are 4.5″ x 4″ with 2″ allowance for the spine/binding.

Pink and Yellow and a Green one too

Hi Everyone…

A very happy Sunday .. and also if you are Irish, then a very happy St Patrick’s Day to you all too 🙂

I have 3 cards to share with you all today, these are my Design Team Projects for Wild Orchid Crafts for this week.   Check out my Youtube Channel to see them up close and a run through of products used by clicking {here}

First up is the pink shabby rose card..

Then I made a yellow one…

and a close up of that one.    I used the Prima 6 x 6 Fairy Flora stack to make these, along with recycling the packaging from my Wild Orchid Crafts Box that My DT Package arrived in.

and finally I made a green one… couldn’t not make a green one now could I?, especially with it being St Partrick’s Day!

I think this one is my fav. out of the trio 😉
