It was a great day out and if you ever get the chance to go to a workshop with Darcy, i recommend you go for it as there is so much to learn and the projects are fun to make 🙂

Chocolate Box Toadstool

Chocolate Box Toadstool.

Hi Everyone!

Happy Sunday to you all, hope you have had a lovely crafty weekend!

Yesterday I drove all the way up to Turriff in Aberdeenshire to a fabulous wee craft shop called Madhatters, where I did a Demonstration for Indigoblu.   It was worth the 6 hours driving and 320 odd miles round trip!

madhatters

Wendy the shop owner was brilliant and kept all the ladies going with cups of tea, then we had a lovely wee buffet lunch (I even got a wee doggy bag to take with me for my drive home)!    So a special thank you to Wendy for your hospitality and fabulous wee craft shop.

I bought a couple of these toadstools, they have the best selection of decopatch shapes, boxes & things I have ever seen and just had to bring these home with me… so guess what today’s project was 😉

I used the following Indigoblu Products to transform this wee cutie!

  • Indigoblu Flitterglu, Phat Foam & Scoochie.
  • Indigoblu Chocolate Box Megaflake
  • Indigoblu Snow White Metallic Cottage Acrylic Paint
  • Indigoblu “Enjoy Life” Stamp Set .. using the “With Love” Stamp
  • Stazon Ganache Ink
  • Stitched Tag Die

Here is the wee toadstool transformed into something rather special, I love this and will be making another one very soon which will travel with me to Indigoblu Demonstrations around Scotland.

That’s me for today.. hope you enjoyed today’s project..

I will be back on Wednesday over on the Indigoblu Blog with a lovely project made with one of the brand new stamp releases

As always, thanks for popping round

Bokeh Effect

Hi Everyone…

Sharing a card that I made for CHA with you today… it features the Dramatic Eye stamp from Indigoblu /Limor Webber..

Dramatic-Eye-A6-insert-front-IND0135-180-x-120

The finished card is highlighted with the bokeh effect, which seems to be rather popular at the moment, it is achieved by creating a template with circles, placing this on the card, then applying an opaque white ink over top with a sponge dauber… I do love the look.

I also used Indigoblu acrylic paints to create a brayered effect background, and added some script stamping to give it a nice wee background.

I also used some recollections textured cardstock that I had bought to make christmas cards, (and never got used lol) which sets it quite nicely against the black card base and layers.

As always, thanks for popping round.. see you all on Wednesday as it’s my turn over on the Indigoblu Blog.

Dramatic Eye Canvas

Hi everyone!!

Long time no see!!  I have been absent from my blog since well before Christmas, but I am back now 🙂

Where have I been?

I have been very busy creating projects for Indigoblu, they attended CHA 2015 in Anaheim, California… very exciting indeed.. my projects were all there too, really really pleased and humbled that they were good enough to go.

Which leads me on to the blog post for today.     Indigoblu have collaborated with Limor Webber to bring a range of gorgeous mixed media stamps and stamp sets, and they are absolutely fabulous!

It is my turn back over on the Indigoblu Blog today, after the festive break and my project is using one of the new Limor Webber stamp releases, this one is called Dramatic Eye and comes in 2 sizes, I used the larger stamp in the canvas below.

Dramatic-Eye-A6-insert-front-IND0135-180-x-120

and here is my project, it is a 5 x 7″ canvas, I tried to keep it monochromatic 😉

There are lots of bits n pieces used here, including Indigoblu cottage acrylic paints and alter ego flourishes

I also used the snow white metallic paint watered down in a spray bottle to create a shimmer spritz spray..

Well, that’s me for today, I will be back, with lots more things to share in the not too distant future, so as always, thank you so much for popping in

The Bird, The Box and The Bauble.

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all well .. can you believe December is here already!

I have a few Christmas sparkles to share with you today, and to say that I won’t be around on my blog much between now and the new year, I have a lot of stuff happening.

My husband broke his leg in two places the other week, and will be off his work for the next 6 weeks, which means, my workload has increased… Hospital appointment with the consultant to see if they are going to operate/pin/plate the bones to stabilize tomorrow.

I was at the dentist on Monday… I’m on antibiotics for a week as I have an infection in my jaw from a broken crown (just my luck!) and I go to the dentist on Monday to have the root removed (not looking forward to it one bit!)

I will be busy between now and the end of December preparing samples for Indigoblu for their CHA releases, which unfortunately I can’t share.    However there will be a blog post from me every Tuesday over on the Indigoblu Blog and another card share on the challenge blog around the 19th December.

My Indigoblu Demonstrations have now finished for the year and I have one final workshop to do this Saturday over in Edinburgh for Stampers Grove,  there are still a few spaces left if you fancy joining me making Christmas shaker cards, money wallets, gift card holders and Christmas tags!

Phew!.. and did I mention in amongst all the December mayhem, I still have to make my own  Christmas cards for friends and family and do all of my Christmas gift shopping  eek!

Now onto my sparklies…

Christmas Keepsake Box

Hello there everyone..

It is Tuesday and that means it is my turn over on the Indigoblu DT Blog.     My project this week is a heart shaped keepsake box..

Xmas Trinket #1

I used a paper mache heart shaped box with lid, and applied a couple of layers of White Gee-soo Good Gesso, and gave all the edges a touch of distress ink…

Xmas Trinket #2

Along the bottom edge of the box I ran some 1/8″ double sided tape then gave it a little dusting with Eton Mess Megaflake.. the gorgeous crochet lace trim around the top is available from the Indigoblu Shop, I picked up a some when I visited HQ in August, it was wrapped around a lovely wooden cotton reel.

Xmas Trinket #3

I decorated the top with a felt snowflake, then layered a couple of paper flower blooms together, these were spritzed with Vodka Martini Acrylic paint made up into a little spray bottle, the edges of the flower petals were dabbed with flitterglu and sprinkled with some vintage mica flakes.

Xmas Trinket #4

The wooden cotton reel base was covered with flitterglu applied directly with the phat foam, and smothered with Eton Mess Megaflake, the above picture is a side view of the trinket box

Xmas Trinket #5

This is the back of the box, or the top of the heart 🙂 I love how the megaflake shines in contrast with the matte finish of the white gee-soo good Gesso

Supplies used :-

White Gee=Soo Good Gesso
Flitterglu Starter Kit
Eton Mess Megaflake
Vodka Martini Metallic Paint
Spray Bottle
Cottom Trim
Pinflair Gel Glue

Xmas Trinket #6

And the front view… these little trinket boxes would made gorgeous gifts for your guests around the dinner table filled with yummy mints in shiny wrappers 🙂

Xmas Trinket #7

I hope you liked this week’s project for Indigoblu and I will see you all soon with more crafty goodness

Christmas “Chocolate Box”

Hello there everyone,

It’s Tuesday and It is my turn over at the Indigoblu Blog to share another project …. I can hardly believe a week has passed already.. time certainly does fly when you are having fun :-)

I have used the snowflake lace background stamp and the gorgeous new Chocolate Box Megaflakes to create this versatile little christmas  ”Chocolate Box” gift holder, where you can slide the sides apart, fill with special chocolates and close right back up again.    The good thing about this project is you can adapt it for a variety of different holiday occasions, for example Halloween, Valentines Day, Easter etc…

Snowflake Lace 30.09.14 1

I have used the gorgeous new chocolate box megaflakes and applied these to textured card stock for the main body of the box, I also die cut a rosette die and applied the flake, it just looks so lush, and to top it all off I took a chunky button, applied flitterglu and covered this with flake too 🙂

Supplies used :-

Snowflake Lace 30.09.14 3

The large plastic snowflake was a cheap christmas decoration that I painted with Goldfinger metallic paint and I just love the effect,  In fact I would love to apply the new release metallic paints to more of these snowflakes and make several more in different colourways… perhaps I will do this for my step by step blog post next month if you would like to see how these are put together 😉

Snowflake Lace 30.09.14 2

I hope you enjoyed this week’s project, as much as I did making it …

I hope you all have a super week!   Remember to check the Indigoblu blog for more posts later this week from the super talented Indigoblubelle’s

Take care
