Hi Everyone..

I altered three wee notebooks today..

I bought these a while back at Stampers Grove, they are great to alter and I also got to use that new kraft and black paper pad that I had bought from the Range last month.

I kept them very simple, they are a great size for sticking in your handbag/purse so didn’t want to embelish them too much

I cut the paper to size which was 2.5″ x 4″

then inked all round the edges of the books and the patterned paper in black archival ink

I applied scortape all round the reverse side of the patterned paper and stuck to the front and back pages of the books

Then I finished them off with some Tim Holtz small talk stickers

A nice quick and easy project for a sunday morning 🙂

Take Some Notes…

Just  a quick post tonight with a little project to share that I have worked on and off over the last 2 days, there is a lot of different layers in this altered A5 notebook.

There are layers of gesso, paint, texture paste, embossing, enamel embossing, gilding, and dry brushing..

Like how it looks, and has also given me an idea for Christmas!   I think this would look fab with snowflakes all over it, keeping the same colour scheme etc.. I just need to remember to make one nearer the time 😉 .

It’s Sunday, but not quite time yet for shabby sunday 😉

I altered a notebook this morning and thought I would share this first..

I love the Paperartsy Vintage Lace Fresco Finish Chalk Paint, it gives off a very pale pinkish hue

Sea-cret Notebook

Hi everyone…hope your all having a lovely weekend….

The Love Book

I’m still waiting on my scor-tape arriving … so I fancied making something that didn’t require a whole lotta glueing lol..   tonights project has a whole lotta painting 😉

I took an A5 sized hardback notebook, spiral bound that I bought last year (in bulk) .. they were a bargin!! 😉   Removed the front and back cover, applied gesso and acrylic paint, did a bit of stamping then added some shabby chic stylie embellies and hey presto!

It’s also this weekend’s Youtube Design Team Project for Wild Orchid Crafts, I made the project from start to finish over on Ustream, and I will record the Youtube video tomorrow night and it should be up by saturday..

Butterflies . . . . .

Its a wee bit blustery out there tonight .. it seems that Scotland is in for a bit of a battering with hurricane force winds sweeping across the country!

Tonight In the workshop I made an altered/decorated A5 ring bound notebook.

The front panel I had started a couple of months back when I got into he old sewing kick, and I found it by accident in one of my drawers tonight,   it was just perfect for the colour scheme of the painted covers so I used it 😉

I painted all sides of the front and back covers, then did a bit of stamping with Brilliance starlight silver ink.. and some new Urban stamps from papermania

Linen and Lace Altered Notebook

I’m practicing my stitching and sewing machine skills tonight in the workshop and… i’m having so much fun 🙂 My mother in law gave me a lovely wee desktop sewing machine at the weekend

I am taking part in a mixed media material mini book swap, and I really fancied having a practice on something small before going the whole hog 😉
