Indigo Ink Tie Dye and Book Binding

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share photos from another workshop that I attended back in May, it was an Indigo ink Tie Dye and book binding workshop held at the Granton Hub in Edinburgh.

It was a fabulous workshop where you learned to Tie Dye fabric with Indigo ink then use your fabric to make a book… the tutors were fabulous Elizabeth and Cassandra .. they can be found here and here if you are looking to do something like this in the future

Here are my photographs from the day…

Button Hole Book Binding part 2

Hi everyone,

I made another book yesterday with the book binding skills learned from the workshop I attended on Wednesday on button hole book binding..

IMG_0305

For this one I used a 12 x12 chalk board effect paper stack that I bought from the range for Β£3 and some black and white washi tape I bought from Ikea a while back.

I am really enjoying making books just now, although I have a few projects in the pipeline that I am working on which I will share in the coming weeks..

book binding, Travel Journals

Leather Travel Journal

Hi Everyone!..

I bought a 3 pack of nice notepads at my local supermarket (asda) this morning because I wanted to make a travel journal… I had bought a leather bundle off Amazon about a month ago with this project in mind and also for making a few other upcoming projects too πŸ™‚

I love how it turned out.. the leather was a scrap but was big enough to cover the 3 books which were held in place with elastic hair bands and have enough to have a flap to fold over the front, which i didn’t trim and left it in the shape it was..

20108332_10154767354811966_8903343238762888426_n

I have to say I do love it, but want to make another, this time actually stitching it onto the leather cover rather than with the elastic as I think I would prefer it to be more secure..

20046353_10154767354936966_2447288826311089688_n

I think I will make up my own signatures for the next book too.. that should be fun and I have just the right paper in mind for it too πŸ™‚

I was going to keep this blog post for tomorrow, but I was that excited about making it that I just had to share it with you tonight!

Thanks for popping in

Arts & Crafts, Paper Crafting

Hold on tight to your dreams…

Hi Everyone..

I altered three wee notebooks today..

I bought these a while back at Stampers Grove, they are great to alter and I also got to use that new kraft and black paper pad that I had bought from the Range last month.

I kept them very simple, they are a great size for sticking in your handbag/purse so didn’t want to embelish them too much

notebooks 2

I cut the paper to size which was 2.5″ x 4″

notebooks 3

then inked all round the edges of the books and the patterned paper in black archival ink

notebooks 4

I applied scortape all round the reverse side of the patterned paper and stuck to the front and back pages of the books

notebooks 5

Then I finished them off with some Tim Holtz small talk stickers

notebooks 6

A nice quick and easy project for a sunday morning πŸ™‚

As always thank you for popping round

G45 Safari Adventure Coffee Sleeve Tag Book

Hi everyone!..

I mentioned the other day that I would share the coffee sleeve tag book that I made using the Graphic 45 Safari Adventure papers..

I used plain kraft coloured coffee sleeves and stenciled over each one with a Dylusions stencil with a triangle pattern and Ground Espresso ink.. I think it made it rather giraffe like πŸ™‚

17021564_10154372691706966_6366544541664959494_n

I also used one of the pages from the 12 x 12 stack with loads of cut aparts to decorate and embelish the book

17098482_10154372691716966_2830009483024748998_n

I stuffed the book with tags and belly bands so that you can add even more tags

16997971_10154372691766966_4641406439060969603_n

and I finished off the book by binding it all with a book ring and a large eyelet from We r Memory Keepers using the Cropodile.

As always, thank you for popping round

See you again soon
