Pink and Yellow and a Green one too

Hi Everyone…

A very happy Sunday .. and also if you are Irish, then a very happy St Patrick’s Day to you all too 🙂

I have 3 cards to share with you all today, these are my Design Team Projects for Wild Orchid Crafts for this week.   Check out my Youtube Channel to see them up close and a run through of products used by clicking {here}

First up is the pink shabby rose card..

Then I made a yellow one…

and a close up of that one.    I used the Prima 6 x 6 Fairy Flora stack to make these, along with recycling the packaging from my Wild Orchid Crafts Box that My DT Package arrived in.

and finally I made a green one… couldn’t not make a green one now could I?, especially with it being St Partrick’s Day!

I think this one is my fav. out of the trio 😉

You Make My Heart Sing

You Make My Heart Sing….

 

This is my first DT video for 2013 and I have altered a small gift box, that was plain blue, by adding acrylic paint, patterned paper and some lovely products from http://www.wildorchidcrafts.com

the next picture is what the box used to look like…

 

add a few layers of acrylic paint… I used Decoart Antique Linen

 

I added some patterned paper from American Crafts, its the Dear Lizzy Cosmopolitan Collection..

Haunted Keep Out!

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely day and enjoying the sunshine.. it’s beautiful here today 🙂

I made a little project for Wild Orchid Crafts, this is project #2 for the month, the video will be up later this evening on Youtube, as I see. to be having a few camera issues today!

I snapped this picture outside in the garden and hung it on the Cotoneaster, which is looking rather splendid at the moment and is awash with gorgeous crimson berries…

Shabby Chic Card Box Set

This weeks project for Wild Orchid Crafts is a repurposed chocolate box, converted into a shabby chic box set which holds some notelets/cards and envelopes… perfect to give as a gift.

Here is a photo step by step for this project and the video will be up on Youtube later today..

I started out with an empty box

Then I took some Daler & Rowney Titanium White Acrylic Paint and gave it a couple of coats inside and out

Here we are with a lovely bright white box…

Next I took some 1/2″ scortape and some Glamour dust

and ran the tape around the inside lip of the base of the box and also the outside edge of the lid

then sprinkled the glamour dust

here are the 2 edges all finished and sparkley

next … more scortape around the top edge of the base of the box

some pretty white lace to cover the bottom of the box

now for some lovely white flat back love hearts 🙂

i’m placing one in between each scallop of the lace and fixing them down with Ranger Glossy Accents

back to the lid, I prepared some 20mm pale pink open roses by chopping the wires from the base and folding the stubby part over..

On the long sides of the box top I have 3 roses x 1 20mm half back pearl x 3 roses and on the shorter side, I put 2 roses x half back pearl x 2 roses… fixed in place with hot glue…

then I ran some 1/8th inch red line tape around the outside edge …

so that I could run some 6mm flat back pearl strings around the edge

and place an applique heart in the centre

a few small white gardenia’s more 20mm pale pink open roses and some 8mm rose buds and we’re finished

Ivory Floral Wedding Cupcake Favour

Hello everyone…

Here is my Wild Orchid Crafts Design Team Challenge for the month of August, the theme this month is “Organic”

I altered one of the cupcake papier mache boxes that you can pick up at your local Hobbycraft store, I had a lot of fun making this project, the video to accompany the project can be found here 

This lovely little project would be perfect as a wedding favour..

 

I loved the theme of this month’s challenge, I kept everything natural and ivory, incorporating natural cotton lace and skeleton leaves..

Valentine’s Cake Boxes

Hi Everyone!! hope your all having a great weekend!

For my Wild Orchid Crafts DT Project this week I made a couple of these cake boxes, the first one was made on Friday night,  I had so much fun.. they are dead easy to make!   This is the Masculine box.

I used Glitz Design Love Games Patterned Papers, they are absolutely drop dead gorgeous!!

Never be too proud to serve Frozen Peas…. with flowers

I’ts been a good day today, my January Design Team Package arrived from Wild Orchid Crafts, so I headed up to my workshop and recorded a video of what I received.. you can view it over on Youtube here

I also ran past the sorting office on the way home tonight and picked up a couple of packages that arrived yesterday, but I wasnt in… I ordered some Claudine Hellmuth Multi Medium in Matte as I had completely ran out!    I also ordered some Glitz Design patterned papers which were 50% off … I love using their papers on projects and took full advantage of the fact that they were on sale over at http://www.scrapbookgarden.co.uk

Soo… whilst the video I recorded was uploading onto youtube, and whilst I was watching Nicky / inkyminxy crafting away on Ustream I thought I would try my hand at making a fridge magnet… so here’s what I came up with…

I Saw Three Ships…

This afternoon/evening in the shed I made a gift box, 1} as next weeks project for Wild Orchid Crafts and 2} as a decorative christmas box to give my mother in law her pressie on Christmas Day 🙂

It started out its life as a little green soap box and was then repurposed into a lovely wee gift box!

I gave the whole thing a coat of gesso and then several coats of Antique Gold Acrylic Paint, I also stamped french script all over the box in Ranger Sepia Archical Ink.

Then I took some christmas sheet music paper and adhered it to the painted box with matt medium.

The keyhole was given to me by my friend Deb who made some from polymer clay, I gave it a coat of gesso and then painted it with Antique Gold Paint and distressed it with Frayed Burlap distress ink… I used a little metal embelishment dragonfly  for the handle.

Lavender Leaves Notebook

I picked up the bargin of the century a couple of days ago at my local shop.. comosition type notebooks with “O” Wires for … wait for it…. 50p each!!!!!

This morning in the workshop I altered one as a project for Wild Orchid Crafts Youtube Design Team .. you can watch the video for this project on Youtube HERE or alternatively watch the book being made over on my Ustream channel HERE and HERE (2 Parter)

I removed the front and back covers, covered them in a layer of Gesso, then mixed up my own paint colour.. I didnt have purple and I was looking for a lavender colour, and mixed rose pink and cloudy light blue and it gave me the exact colour I was looking for 🙂 the edges of the book I dry brushed with pearl Adirondak paint.
