Shabby Chic Tag Box

I had the day off work today with it being a bank holiday and spent part of this afternoon finishing off the tag box that I started making on Ustream last night..

I love the shabby chic’ness of the Melissa Frances papers.. in fact I love them so much that I want them all ๐Ÿ™‚ ย So when pay day arrives, I shall be scouring the internet to find online retaillers and spending my crafting pennies on all things Melissa Frances.

I got the idea for making this from a fellow Youtube user cabettsutubeuserย and rather than me doing a tutorial all over again, it makes sense to refer you to Christina’s 2 part tutorial ย .. Click here for Part 1 and here for Part 2ย it’s a wonderful project!

Here is my finished box..

Spring Flowers Watercolour Card

Today in my workshop I tried my hand at a bit of water colour painting using watercolour pencils and an aquabrush.. I’m not much of a hand a drawing, but quite like this little 2 x 2″ piece ๐Ÿ™‚

There is not much else on this card apart from watercolour paper and a small layer of light moss green bazzill textured cardstock.

I used the same watercolour paper for my card base as I did for the mini painting ๐Ÿ™‚

Just a plain wee card for nice and clean simple look

Flora & Fauna Cards

I was late getting up to my workshop last night, the dogs got a long walk after tea time.. you can’t beat a good old walk to blow the cobwebs away!

I used the K & Company Flora & Fauna patterned paper and matching cardstock and velum pack to make these, they were a lovely birthday pressie that my friend Laura sent me.

I absolutely love this collection and will need to look out for it on my internet shopping travels ๐Ÿ˜‰

Supplies Used :~

  • Bazzill Textured Cream Cardstock ย 12 x 4″ when folded makes a 4″ x 6″ card
  • Cosmo Cricket Boyfriend Collection Ledger Paper
  • K & Company Flora & Fauna Matt Stack
  • K & Company Flora & Fauna Cardstock and Vellum Embelishments
  • Paper Doillie ย & Light Mink Seam Binding from Wild Orchid Crafts
  • Lindys Stamp Gang Moodshaddow Mist in Violacious Violet – sprayed on the Doillie

The second card I made I used a wee bit of inspiration from the card my daughter made the other night when she joined me in the workshop, and because the tiny piece of decorative pick was left lying on my desk and it went very well with the colour scheme of this card ๐Ÿ™‚

Supplies Used :-

  • Bazzill Textured Cardstock in a creamy colour
  • Cosmo Cricket Boyfriend Patterned Paper ~ Ledger paper
  • K & Company Flora & Fauna Matt Stack

i <3 tree's with some shabby chic love.. .. ..

I have a really great time in the workshop tonight… wee Sarah pulled up a chair, got my old craft mat out and crafted along with me ๐Ÿ™‚

I made a layout and a card and she made a card with a painted background, newpaper clippings some flower picks, lace and a stamp.

Below is the 8″ x 8″ Layout I made using a picture of a tree that I snapped whilst walking through the woods with the dogs the other week.. and the layout says it all … I really do {heart} trees ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was wondering why my camera was taking crappy photos tonight and it wouldn’t focus.. turns out my son had been using it today, altered all the settings and left his fingerprints all over the lens!! the lengths some teens wil go to get a ย photo ๐Ÿ˜‰ I suppose i’ll let him off seeing as he “fessed up” to using it lol

Here is a picture of the shabby Chic card I made using some of the leftovers from the Layout

Supplies List :~

  • Bazzill Light Green Textured Cardstock 12″ x 4″ folded to make a 6″ x 4″ Card
  • Light Green Vintage 1930’s Seam Binding
  • Digital Collage Sheets
  • Paper Doillie
  • Melissa Frances Patterned Paper
  • Mulberry Flowers
  • Matte Green Pearl Bead
  • Ivory Padded Heart

and once I managed to recover my camera .. a nice wee close up ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks so much for stopping by ๐Ÿ™‚

Shabby Chic Dressform Card

Another lovely evening in the workshop.. I watched Dede’s live stream over on Ustream…

I made a couple of cards

and I chatted to friends on Skype ๐Ÿ™‚

I finally got around to using the Making Memories valentine papers that I bought back in January! .. the name escapes me but i’m sure its “Amour” something or other ๐Ÿ˜‰

I made the Stick pin using a head pin and some matte gold Glass Beads…

The Paper Doilie is from Wild Orchid Crafts and I sprayed it with Pearl mist.. the dressform image is a digital collage download that I bought last week ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks so much for looking in and if you have any questions about the products used in this card just drop me a note and I;d be glad to help out ๐Ÿ™‚

Vintage Mushroom ATC Series

It’s been a blowy / rainy kinda day here today.. in between hanging out washing and cleaning out the animals I squeezed in a bit of crafting in my workshop today ๐Ÿ™‚

I made a set of 6 ATC’s today using the vintage mushroom collage sheets I bought online last week.

I quite fancied doing an ATC swap but wasnt sure what it all entailed,.. so i’ll do a bit of investigating and see what’s what and maybe come back later on next week with a wee swap ๐Ÿ˜‰ (if your interested just give me a wee shout).

Shabby Chic Stepper Card

I picked up a copy of the Docrafts Creativity Magazine at my local garden centre when I stopped in there today to pick up sawdust for mucking out the animals tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚

So whilst I was on my way home (hubby driving) I flicked through the mag, just looking at the pictures (as you do lol) and there was a card there that caught my eye straight away.. a step card, now whilst there were no dimensions given in the mag, once I got home and headed up to the workshop, I kinda figured out my own as I went along.

I took a piece of 12 x 12 Cardstock and cut it down to 12″ x 4″, then I scored it at 4″, 8″ & 10″ and thats the basis for this card…

I love this shape of card, probably because I;ve never made one with these dimensions before ๐Ÿ™‚

I used Bazzill textured cardstock for the base in a lovely shade of olive green

The patterned paper & diecut ephemera are from the Butterfly Garden Range by Pink Paislee.. I absolutely adore this shabby chic feel paper ..

Some beautiful 1920’s soft pink vintage seam binding….

Topped off by a little ephemera piece and a delicate pink rose from Wild Orchid Crafts ๐Ÿ™‚

Vintage Faerie Card

I really enjoyed my time up in my workshop tonight… I cleared, cleaned and polished my desk, watched barb on Ustream painting faces on fabric and making felted beads and balls and felted sheets… I had a blast watching her create, she is very talented ๐Ÿ™‚

I also had a wee blether on Skype with my friend Deb across the pond ๐Ÿ˜‰ and once we’d finished chatting I nipped down to the house to get a cuppa before heading back to the workshop to create a wee card.

My order arrived from Wild Orchid Crafts today ๐Ÿ™‚ a box filled to the bring with flowery perfection ๐Ÿ™‚

So… heres tonights card, it has a bit of a vintage faerie feel to it.. still experimenting with layering ephemera etc.. i’m having a blast !
